"A very thorough, clear and pragmatic surveyor who definitely goes the extra mile to make what can be a stressful process a lot easier. All issues with the property were picked up, and there were several areas given it was a 200 year old property, allowing us to resolve them before purchase and ultimately saving us a considerable amount of money. This in turn made the reasonable fees even better value for money.

Freddie took it upon himself to ensure that follow up work to the house was being completed to a suitably high standard. All of this with great communication and little effort required from us. I would wholeheartedly recommend Freddie and James Slater & Co."

Mark Churchill, Horsley

"In 2012 we set out to diversify our derelict farm buildings into a Holiday & Corporate let to sleep up to 24 people. They are listed buildings and therefore need to be looked at in a delicate and throughtful manner to comply with the Cotswold District Council planning directives.

The team at James Slater understood our wants and needs, and produced an outstanding piece of work. It was a complicated project, but because James Slater worked closely with us and the builders, we achieved more than we could ever have hoped for."

John Smith, Cirencester

"James Slater & Co have been of invaluable assistance to us. Initially assisting with a claim against the original surveyor, then by obtaining planning permission in respect of the extensive rebuilding and refurbishing work. This included the drawing up of plans, arranging the tender process to choose builders and then project managing the 9 months rebuilding and refurbishment programme.

Mike kept a close eye on the budget throughout and liaised closely with the various tradesmen involved. We have recommended James Slater & Co to others who have been equally impressed, and we would have no hesitation in recommending them again."

Michael Wood, Luckington
"James Slater & Co have worked for The Bathurst Estate now for just over a year. They provide Surveys, Design and Project Management on several of the Estate's properties at all levels, from small repairs to full renovations and refurbishment.

The work they provide, whether large or very small jobs, is always of an excellent standard. Their work ethic is very professional throughout, ensuring that we, as the client, have been informed of all of the options in order to make positive decisions in the course of our duties.I would recommend James Slater & Co to anyone."

Joanne Marshall, Bathurst Estate
Thanks to James and Charlotte from James Slater & Co, we have achieved our ambition of a sympathetic and practical development of a slightly tired listed cottage in a restricted position into a delightful and comfortable home, maximising the limited space available.

Inevitably, such a complex and sensitive project was going to require vision and imagination. It was also bound to have its setbacks but, importantly, these were always handled in a positive, 'can-do’ manner - helped, to no small extent, by the excellent building firm that James Slaters & Co identified and appointed. We are delighted with the end-product which achieved, and in many respects, exceeded our objectives.
