Award Nominated Extension

A full refurbishment and new extension for a historic Grade II Listed Cotswold cottage.

Full Refurbishment

For this project we were asked to plan and manage a full refurbishment and extension of a dilapidated Grade II Listed cottage.

We took the project through Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent, managing the full refurbishment of the dilapidated property. Part of this included demolishing the side extension which was structurally unsound and rebuilding using the reclaimed stone to ensure a seamless match with the original building.

We worked with the clients to fully renovate the interior of the property, creating a finished look which seamlessly blends the original features with a high-end modern finish.

Award Nominated Extension

As part of the refurbishment we designed a modern extension to the rear of the property.

The design of this extension evolved over the course of the project to best fit the clients brief and budget, creating a light and spacious extension that complements the historical listed cottage.

We were delighted when this extension was nominated for the prestigious LABC Building Excellence Award.

Testimonial

"The total renovation of our period cottage was a daunting prospect until we engaged James Slater & Co as our Architects. They produced pragmatic solutions to the demands of Conservation, and then clear plans from which our great builders were able to work. There was an excellent communication channel between all three parties.

Site visits were a pleasure as we were confident that every aspect of the build was being thoroughly thought through.

We were delighted to hear that the project had been put forward for the regional finals of the LHBC awards – an accolade that is well deserved and we would not hesitate to recommend them."
